starting today, for kids here at one school district.
Here's the kicker when busses can't operate kids must do school online but school staff doesn't have to report to work.

This is ridiculous.

The same school district extended the school year and school times this year too because nm is bottom of barrel in education. The people voted to not extended the year and hours yet the district did it anyway. Now kids don't have snow days to enjoy a day off yet staff can.

The kids don't have a union.

Or parents that will stand up for them apparently. To bad ther are not more good union jobs. If there were fam could live on a single family income and mom could stay home and actually Rais the kids instead of having other people do it.

If school is on for the kids it should be on for the staff too.

So if it snows, don't send the kids to school, they can make believe their learning on the puter...

From past ezperience, it only takes half a dozen flakes and SC brings to a halt anyways. Don't know about TN yet, but I am guessing its similar

Snow days sometimes turn into a family event here. Wife gets the day off too since she teaches. I'll usually go to work but if the roads are really crappy I'll just stay home too.

Kids here get snow days but winter gets BAD here.We can get a foot or more of snow in just a couple hours here.

I for one enjoy being a part of my sons learning. They plan ahead and make the most of every dollar I spend on his education

Its a modern thing for the softie generations.
There was never a school closed due to winter blizzards when I went to school
And no school bus,walked 45 minutes to school each way all year starting in Grade two.
Kids today are pusses.

So,,,EVERY kid in ALL of Canada land lives exactly 45 minutes from school.And NONE of them ride school busses.Hahaaaaa

....and had to fight injuns and bears with his bare hands!

You had school busses.They just wouldn't let you on it any more cause you kept licking the windows.

I doubt BOCO walked to school during the Blizzard of 1977 or the Blizzard of 1966.

You must have girly winters where you live.Back in the early 90s,I got TEN FEET of snow at my house in five days.SIX feet of that came in a 24 hour period.Lot of roof shoveling that winter.

If the kids are online, aren’t the teachers online teaching them? They probably just get to do that from home.
