AnthonyT OP trapper A Joined: Feb 2009 KY	One of my favorite butterflies is the red spotted purple. This cousin to the viceroy is one of two subspecies of the red spotted admiral, the other subspecies being the white admiral. Numbers of red spotted purples normally peak in the fall in most of its range in the eastern US. This is a a strange butterfly and so are its caterpillars! Learn all about them in this video.
