At a middle school girls golf tournament. Bad deal but he'd been hanging around in the city park at night too. [Linked Image]

Relocating the cat could have been an option and sent to a different state. I believe NE is almost 100% private ownership state.

Ok so I will poke the bear. Why would you ever spend the time and money to relocate an animal that is not endangered and is already habituated to being around people?

Getting close enough to put him to sleep might be a problem too....while he's eyeballing teenage girls.

WHY relocate him??? He is too attuned to civilization. They did the right thing.

Good grief. The way those things have been shown to wander? Acclimated as said above? Move a dangerous problem out of your site and out of mind is the solution, darn anyone else. What a beauty.

Your lucky to keep one of those things inside of three State lines.

Should buy the person that shot it a case of beer, and the State should give them an extra deer tag.

There was good reason our ancestors put a bounty on those things.

Those cats are all over. Not endangered one bit. Central MN is full of them. Crow river in Meeker County. Mn River towards New Ulm. Ask any bow Hunter or Houndsmen.

Not saying they were wrong in killing it. I always try to find the balance between outdoorsman and conservationist. I live in lion country and know the destruction they do and have seen more than most on here. I still try to find that balance with nature and most don't get that it isn't all about killing.

We had more lions on the elk cams this year then coyotes might be what killed the deer doe season out there.

I don't guess I realized that this was so confusing. If an apex predator starts eyeballing kids you either act quickly (and decisively) or some set of parents are bound to reap the consequences.

Not on my watch...

If you relocated the thing it would most likely end up at another school or maybe a youth camp. Both are hard nos for me anyway.

Always carry a shovel in the truck and let the landowner/manager know to never snoop around in fresh dirt…plausible deniability.

If Carl F. was still alive I'd bet it would've been dealt with quicker than it was even if it was a Mtn lion not a loin ha ha

Rest well Carl I still miss our conversations !
