Was hunting turkeys in San Angelo a few years back and was going along and heard this awful racket. Thought what the heck looked in the grass between me and the fence and was a rattler in strike position. He couldn’t handle 3 inch # 5 shot had 14 rattles guess that’s a good one

… I’m jealous Swamp … spent my life in the pine woods and oak bottoms … never came across a canebreak longer than 2 foot and I’m looking for them … maybe this year.. the federalis took them off protective status last year so I can now legally (not that I’ve cared prior) kill a biggin and schalack him to a cedar slab … maybe this fall lol

… they’re a pretty hide no doubt

.. you got a western jslat… they stay west of this area but are a bad bite from what I understand
