I’ve always canned green beans. How do they turn out freezing them? May have to try that

My experience it depends of the cultivar. Rattlesnake freezes and dries well without to much loss of flavor. My preferred Louisiana Purple Pod doesn’t so I only can those. Try it both ways and see is the only way to know.

I freeze and blanch and they turn out well. Ours are all gone in 6 months. Not sure how they would keep long term.

they turn out great ,we like them this way better than canning, and they last over a year in the freezer.

We have been washing, blanching and freezing green beans for 40 years. We cut ours into 1 inch or less pieces before blanching.. when blanched for 3 minutes we put in cold water with ice cubes and then package in pint freezer bags. Do that with cauliflower, broccoli, peas and carrots also. We use the zip lock freezer bags which are much better than the ones we used several years ago.
