I once owned 6 and half dozen of them in unused condition. I had them for 10 minutes and sold them to another trapper at a convention.

Whatcha use em for? Will they hold a yote?
Before I put mine out I'm gonna add my usual 6' of #2 American chain and a couple swivels, I'll probably set it up so the chain is on the side opposite of the spring like I do my #1s

No doubt they will hold a yote, bobcat, beaver or otter. My experience with them is after a catch or two the jaws were gapped open. I also didn't like bedding them...had to work at stabilizing them when compared to a double long spring. I think they would shine as a water trap on a drowner. When I had them I used them both on land and in the water. Like others I got rid of them when I found other traps.

Thats one other thing I noticed about B&L traps- if you didnt have the spring maxed out the whole way when setting the trap, it bent the jaw posts while spreading the jaws thus resulting in gapped jaws. They made a great trap then cheaped out on the jaw posts.

I have some 2.5 B&L pans in new condition that I got in a bag of #3 pans somewhere a few years back (like 20 yrs). With all the hubbub about 2.5 Blakes I am surprised I found them when looking for some oblong #2 V coil pans. Huh,,, even a blind hog finds an acorn once in a while ! ..............the mike
