I used to put glycerine in my salmon oil / shellfish oil mixture to help keep my trailing scent from freezing. I haven't used this for several years, and plan to use it again this year. I can't find my notes on how much glycerin I used back then. Does anyone have a suggestion?

I’d consider mixing your shellfish oil with vegetable oil… then adding a small amount of glycerin for antifreeze….

I put 16 ounces of glycerine in a gallon of salmon oil. Not saying that’s the best mix but it works for me. I also put about an ounce of skunk essence and ounce of Amber oil in the mixture. I use it for cats and marten. Even when I’ve left the bottle in the back of the truck in single digit temps it still stays thawed. It might be jelled up but I can still squeeze it out of the bottle.
