Landfill I should say. So he called and said the new relay station in town dropped off a bunch of 1/2 rerod cut off ends looks to be a few hundred pieces around 40 inches long. Perfect for stakes for the 4H kids I’ll just grind and weld a washer at one end and chop saw to length maybe 32 inches with an angle cut to make a point. Could do a 30 inch 10 inch cut for double staking also but the 40 inch alone it to long for a stake. Lots of options ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2023/09/full-18408-190338-img_3176.jpeg)

don't know soil conditions but remember those kids got to drive them in the ground Lots of coyotes here I’d rather see them pound in a 32 inch stake and complain about it then be heart broken if they lost a coyote. Most kids are lucky to set more then a couple of traps when they start out. I make wolf fang cable rigs for them also so they have a choice of how to anchor their traps.

It did cost me $82.00 to drop off 25 tires but it was worth getting rid of them.

If you just cut them in half wouldn't 20 inches be enough for cross staking for yotes out there? I find the 30-32 inch stakes to hold the best and wet years are not that common in the west the kids and their dads can pound in 32 inches or 40 inches it might make little difference now pulling might be a little difference. I got enough materials to make some 20 s also.

The guys who run our local landfill are great as they pretty much know what different people are looking for. I have a good friend to calls me every time he go's there and asks me if I need anything...
