A little different video this week. As a seller of native plants I sometimes get some interesting reactions to the names of some of the plants so I made a video that goes into it a bit. Here is the video description:
Perception can play a huge part in how the public views plants and the use of the word weed in many native plant common names has a negative effect with some people. Part of this has to do with what people in general think the word weed means, though there is more than one definition of the word weed. The agricultural definition is much more precise in defining what a weed is and may be one point that can be used to fight the “weed” bias some have towards native plants.
Yes, the thumbnail is a bit click baity - but it is exactly what the video is about.
Thanks for watching!

Every year volunteer tomato plants pop up , in the wrong places. Hate to pull them , but can only use just so many volunteers along with the transplants.
We have met the enemy and the enemy is us!

Turtledale Smartweed has been around for a long time I found and old embossed bottle that was embossed with the name of the company that sold the item . I was digging for bottles on a hot 90 degree da Finding the bottle on the hot day was a signto me that it might be a product I should purchase . In my county in PA the local NRCS considers the common milkweed to be a noxious weed and it must to killed And yet it is a very importnt plant for the life cycle of butterflys
