Had shoulder surgery and was given Percocet. Took a few for two days. I think the pain is not as bad as the side effects of Percocet. Tuesday will be three weeks since surgery and I still have a constant headache and can’t get back to a daily BM. Had lots of surgeries and taken this drug a dozen times over twenty years. Seems to affect me badly as I grow older.

Can’t image what a druggie feels like when gobbling these pills daily. Ain’t nothing about opioids that feels good to me.

Anybody else have poor results when taking prescription pain meds?

If it gives you a headache you may be allergic to it. I can't take codeine for that reason - get a splitting headache. Other meds like oxycotin or hydrocodone don't do that to me.

Don't take them and bite on a stick to quell the pain?

The anesthesia they used maybe part of your problem also.

I too am allergic to codeine. Gives me a rash. Haven’t had any pain Med in 18 days now. Just Tylenol.

Get urself some of those m30 fentanyl pills Bidens having brought through the border by the millions.

Drink two glasses of warm water back to back. Put glass of water in microwave and heat for 1 minute. Chug both.

Should get BM results shortly.

When I had to take percocet after knee surgery, I had to take Dulcolax stool softener. Pain meds do bind one up.

I can hardly take anti biotic's! So NO i can't do pain pills, luckily i can take a couple of advil or such and be just fine..

When I had my surgery I was very leery of the Pain Meds. They are just too addictive. I was scared of them and used Motrin as much as possible. I would say just ask the Hair Sniffer to get you some of that Fentanol.

The pain meds they gave me did nothing for me so I quit them after 2-3 days. They used to give good ones like when I had shoulder surgery umpteen years ago. I don’t think I could get addicted to what they give now if I tried.

As far as BM’s are concerned, any pain med does that. I was told to start talking a stool softener and day or two before surgery. Ended up having to take some mild chewable laxatives. They pump you full of pain meds and antibiotics before you ever leave the hospital in most cases, so taking pain meds after wards just makes it worse.

Percocet isn't as addictive as the media tries to make it out to be, if you use it correctly. It isn't like meth. It will take the edge off, but rarely eliminates severe pain.

LOL I just laugh and shake my head. People hear pain meds and think you are an addict. The doses and amounts you are given WILL NOT MAKE YOU AN ADDICT. The FDA has limited the amount so much NO WAY it will happen. IT IS a medical fact your body heals faster after surgery if you take them. Side effects? Yes constipation is normal. But lot of water and stool softner for couple days will remedy that.
Funny before the herion and fentanyl deaths started being lumped in with pain meds Dr would give them to you for a sinus headache. Pain meds aren't the problem . VERY rare a death from overdose is pain pills.

But believe what the media is feeding you. Funny how same ones believing if you take 2 pain pills you are an addict scream covid is just media pushed sickness.


You can get addicted to coffee. Raise your hand if you MUST have your coffee before you start your day .......

I find stool softeners a MUST with any of those pain meds won't even take one if I can't take the stool softener at the same time.

good lord that was a mess the first time they put me on Oxycodone 20 years ago, 3 days bound up , well it was not a good day the pain of pooping/not-pooping almost made me forget about the pain of 3 ruptured disks , no not exactly , but it was agony.

and then the vivid violet dreams/nightmares , no thanks

Sorry you are afraid of them to bad, they do help when not used wrongly.

I use them when ever I go to the dentist plus the gas, I'm very anxious when in a dentist chair, used them when I had a hernia repair many years ago when there was no restrictions on them, never wanted a refill, helped me get around better as well.

Yes some are addictive when used to much for some people, but the majority of people will find them helpful per prescription.

I also use them for kidney stones once or twice every three years when the Doc says so to help pass them, saved me a lot of dollars from them not roto rooting me to get them out, although I have changed my diet severely, the stones still plague me continually !

I had some recently with my hip replacement, honestly they didn't do anything for the pain and Tylenol worked 50x better.

Pain pills are bad ? I thought you were by the book , ALWAYS .
