Saw the 1st small flock of cedar wax wings (or berry birds as we call em down here) today. Seems early for them to be down here. Usually November.

North central mn on Mille lacs lake Saturday there were a number of arctic loons. I thought it early for them to be here.

They seem to be highly nomadic in search of food. My guess is with the fires this year in Canada we will see several species of birds showing up in unusual places or out of season locations. Didn't consider the wildfire's effect....you're likely correct.

Flocks of cedar waxwings have wiped me out strawberry -wise many times. The little pests don't care how many times a shotgun blast goes off. Undeterred.

Growing up in Harvey N.D. The baseball complex was wrapped with Russian Olive tree and every tree had a dozen or so in them. When they whipped out all the olives they were gone. It was a bird watchers paradise. I’ve seen those trees in the roughest remote places in the west. They must have been a favorite of homesteaders to bring along. Osky

I haven’t seen them in years.
When I was a kid they would come into the yard and eat the chokecherries.

In the fall on their way south, flocks of them stop at my flowering crab tree at the lake. Great photo, Swamp Wolf.

If removing guns saves just one life it's worth it. Then if deporting illegals saves one life is that worth it?
