Talk about a big Change. In WV you could hunt fish and Trap on your own property for free. Now next week I will be going to get my Resident Hunting Fishing and Trapping License and it is not free. Oh well still the cheapest way to have fun and enjoy life. My wife loves to fish and Pheasant hunt so it will be fun.

One of my gripes. Nebraska G&P "manages" wild game populations at sportsmen expense. There are no pheasants or quail left. The whitetail deer and turkeys live on private land and are fed by private landowners, yet all wildlife is property of the state. I say it's BS. Let the landowners sell the permits.Same with furbearers. What does the state do to manage furbearers except introduce otters and then not have a season when they get populated.

The state introduced elk on private land, they destroy pivots of beans and corn, yet they tell farmers "not our problem, but you better not touch them, they're protected!"

We have electric bicycles, skateboards, one-wheels, Segway, all over town that don't require licenses that 10 yr old kids ride, yet a fisherman has to license an electric motor on a rowboat. More BS

Mo is still a free on your own land state, but the state has that sales tax money coming in that everybunghole, all his brothers and 1/2 their cousins want to get their mitts on.

in WI you can trap your own property all season as a land owner for coyote , racoon , possum , beaver and even fox if it is a nuance so long as you live on it and are a WI resident.

you can also shoot any of those as a land owner as well as squirrel and rabbit all year

just don't take a step off your property to do it.

it is game birds , deer , turkey , bear and things like otter tags that you have to buy a license for no matter who you are

deer is 24, small game 20 , turkey and bear are an application fee , pheasant stamp and no matter where you are the US waterfowl stamp is needed.

fishing , the state says they own all water but if it is a pond entirely on your property it is unlikely you get any visits.

I lived in Nebraska a long time. Trust me, the landowners ARE selling the permits. If you want good land to hunt, you pony up the cash for a lease. Otherwise, shut your mouth and enjoy the scenery. ALL of the land I used to hunt in Nebraska has been leased by out of state folks of people with more money than I was willing to part with for some feathers and horns.

I think ALL states should be like WV and whatever you hunt trap or fish on your own land should not be charged for. Heck in WV if you own the Mineral rights or have wells on your property you can get free gas to your house.

If you haven't bought a WI licence in the past 10 years, you get discounts on your residential licenses the first year. Reduced fishing and small game licences for seniors if you age qualify. So there is that.

Does your state have a graduated lifetime license? NC does. Protects against fee increases and no mater where you eventually relocate to, you still have a resident lifetime license.

All lifetime license fees are placed in a trust. Wildlife Department can only spend the annual interest.
