I have a problem with storing my tanned fur... I just emptied out a closet that is 5 Ft X 4ft X 9Ft ceiling I am hanging poles across it, to hand coon, mink, possum and muskrat in there. I don't know of any vermin in there but would you place moth ball of some other repellant in there to deter bugs or other critters getting in there. It will be mostly dark except for one wall has a 2 ft square multicolored antique glass window in it. Nothing will be touching the floor or hopefully the walls. I saw listed using red cedar, and even lavender as repellants... any suggestion will be of great help.

Thank you!

If they are tanned they should be fine.
Only thing I seen damage tanned fur is mice. They clip the fur for their nests.I have done repairs on fur hats that guys left in their trapping cabins over the summer that had been clipped by mice.
Humidity is also not good for tanned fur.
Hanging in the open in your home upstairs should be fine.
If you hang fur in the basement in summer run a de humidifier. Then you will be good.
Another option is in plastic bags in the freezer until you sew and sell.

Thanks Robert... I will test is out before I fill it up... I jus t may have to put a small fan in there to keep the air circulating. I knew I could count on you.

Freeze them and it will kill any vermin on them.
