What different types of markets do you guys have for rats? Just trying to figure out a way to get more out of my catch. Obviously the gland and fur but what else do you guys get off of them? Do you guys use the tails for anything like BTO? Keep the skulls, fleshings, sell the carcasses? Thanks in advance!

I have a guy who pays $2.50 per body. I need to gut, take the head and feet off but leave the tail. Ask around to see if you have anyone for the meat market in your area. Eating muskrat is pretty popular on the Eastern shore of MD.

Occasionally bait makers will buy rat carcasses. I bought a few hundred pounds of gutted and frozen carcasses for part of my predator bait meat base. I don't need them now but you could ask and see if anyone wants them.

When Robert W was going for 1000 coyotes in a season I believe his bait was 1/2 a rat in a hole. Might advertise on some different forums for frozen rat carcasses for sale. Someone will buy them.

We have a couple buyers who want the skulls and tails. Every undamaged skull of any species can be sold. I sell mine raw, drop in a ziplock and freeze.

I keep skulls off the canines and beaver. I keep the fleshing from beaver, rats and coon.

Great predator bait. MN trapline products sells big batches of muskrat bait preserved fresh for predator bait.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.
