Thanks we sure enjoyed the trip up there. The tube fed was a Henry model X in 45 long colt. I was hoping to take a caribou with it but maybe next time. There was a grizz spotted near where I killed this caribou the next morning, but we did t get a chance to shoot one on this trip

Just argos and snow machines can make it. It’s a bit over a hundred miles through swamp over a few mountains and a lot of tusuks, lakes and creeks. Last week a couple guys broke down on the way up there on an Argo and had to be airlifted out. They were about 20 miles from arctic but with 2” of snow nothing could make it to them.

Thanks snowy. Yes upstateNY it’s a buck 119, I’ve put in a lot of real work with that knife. Breaking apart vertibrae can be rough on a knife but it’s held up.

The second day of our caribou hunt will be finished in a day or two. I’ll be sure to post it on here, thanks for the support everybody

Odd you should mention that.
I too have a Buck 119. Used it to take a lot of moose apart over the years and have never liked it. I did break about 3/16" off the tip when disjointing a moose vertebrae .

I reshaped it but eventually bought a Ruana which I really like !

Nice video. I like country where a guy can stretch his eyes.

I like the blind made of stones.

All those rocks reminds me of Ireland.

Thanks for sharing, EG.

I do use another knife for most of the skinning and use the buck 119 for most of the joints and to finish moose/caribou.

Yeah the views really are something else

Awesome country up there. Here in the flats we have allot of timber and brush, not so much rocks. When the snow is deep enough we’ll head into the mountains for caribou
