camlock trapper Joined: Jun 2018 White House, TN	I purchased a remanufactured motor for my 1997 Toyota Tacoma from Advance Auto. Bad move on my part. The first motor jumped time. Second motor valve problems.. 3rd motor ok so far. We had to video and perform tests to prove to them the motor was bad. They wanted a licensed mechanic shop to do the tests but I told them my son used to be a mechanic for Honda and they agreed for him to do the blow down compression test etc. lots of trouble and months of waiting. Remanufactured in Mexico. Not again..

warrior trapper Joined: Jan 2007 Georgia	You might cruise a few toyota forums and see what they are talking about. I've located a few shops that specialize in building tricked out suzuki 1.3 and 1.6 for the samurai and sidekick so I'm sure there are a few that do up a 22re.

Providence Farm trapper P Joined: Feb 2020 Indiana	I rebuilt the one in my 94. Was not much to it back when I had time to do things like that. Turnd out it didn't need rebuilt. The timing change had som slop and wore through the timing Chain cover to the holes the antifreeze ran through and is why I thought it need a new head or head gasket. But when I figured that out I allready had the motor out and apart and parts bought. So went ahead with the rebuilt.

Providence Farm trapper P Joined: Feb 2020 Indiana	3 years ago I has a shop put a jasper in my ranger. I think it was 3800 for the motor. But we are close to jasper. I had them put all new ac parts, radiator , hoses belts, basically about anything they took off that was likely to go bad on a 97 on new. No extra labor to pay since it was all taken off and had to be put back on anyway. Total was about 5k. 3 weeks later the computer went out. Lol. Can't even make this up.
