Ordered an ati milsport 5.56 thru guns.com and they had sent me a flyer. Watched many u tube reviews and had it shipped to my ffl. Took it home loaded it up and click,click,click. beat up 4 5.56 loads and had a heck of a time manually ejecting them. Firing pin was hitting air(not hitting primer)called guns.com and they sais nicely not our problem manufacturers prob. Called factory 3 times...first time they said clean it...I said its a new weapon im not going to touch it. Called again got a guy......he said ill send u an rma. Third time i asked for manager and he got testy real quick when i told him I need it now. They said expect 4-6 weeks return time and if it needs cleaned i may incur a 65 dollar cleaning fee. Yet he said i have unconditional 1 yr warranty no questions asked. I have half a notion to file a chargeback but wont. No quality control.

I've pieced together a number of sub $400 ARs using PSA stuff with no.issues.

Find you a local builder. That way you can build what you want, the weight you want, the accessories you want.

I have had some exceptional experiences with Guns.com and a couple not so good. They andolyrefuse to send additional pics or answer questions about condition. You are buying off mostly of pics that don’t show the detail I need to see. I make an offer accordingly. Some are accepted and some aren’t. I have gotten at least 2 rifles that weren’t even the chambering they were advertised,

every manufacturer has some issues , how the manufacture deals with it is what makes the difference.

I get it brand new gun , you don't want to touch it , I get that

you may enjoy some of this guys videos , he examines a lot of failures and issues and shows you how he fixes them , he also has build classes you can attend.

I've always cleaned any new gun before I shot it. It's recommended in a lot of my owners manuals.

Take the upper apart. Youtube.com is your friend. They really aren't that hard to work on.

might just be grease. clean it with gas. let it dry. oil it up good.

also easy to pull the BCG press the firing pin forward and see if you have any protrusion through the bolt face will in the locked up state

if you have none at all then you really have a short firing pin

if you have some then it is time to measure

to build a 400 dollar AR complete I would guess they check nothing or at most drop a GO and NO-GO gauge

if you want all the checks run before it leaves the factory $$
