I don't want to work as a cashier and bagger at Walmart, or any other store either. Younger people than us are mostly okay with checking themselves out.

Personally prefer self check out

Keith you are correct. Columbus Ohio announced last month. They are building a New Cota bus station down town. It will consist of Cota Busing, Day Care, and the food bank

I prefer the self checkout. Walmart cart attendants start at $16.50 in Washington.

Nope. Online shopping with Walmart is huge. I'm a merchandiser that goes into Walmarts and half the employees double dip doing online order for pickup after their shifts. That's the way to go if you're going to be buying a bunch of stuff from any store that offers it.

You can barely get someone to work fast food around here for $20 an hour.

Nothing really until it forces customers into lines measured in hundreds of yards.

Most places that pay double what walmart pays is having trouble finding enough help.

I don't think its the 15 bucks an hour more like no one wants to work.

Never a line at the Walmart I go to. Each end of the store has many self checkout stations.
Usually a few cashiers too. They stand at the ready out front of their station and wave you in if your walking by.
I prefer self checkout and find it fast and convenient.
You can also check out at many of the departments such as sporting goods, automotive, jewelry and cosmetics

I shop Sam's Club for everything I can. Use the scan and go, never wait in line and get the lowest prices on most everything. I refuse to waste my time waiting in line, not to mention, I fill my gas tank there and save $0.30/gal on each visit. I also order a few items from Sam's or Walmart if it's not in store at Sam's. Free shipping is a must. I'm a frugal shopper and my habits are paying dividends under the current economic circumstances.

Keck, try the curbside pickup at Sams if you know what you want. They charge a 4 dollar convenience fee.

Order everything from your phone, pick a time frame for pickup, text them when you get there and what spot and a few minutes later you leave with your stuff.

I think self check out is when you go in,take what you want and walk out.
They dont stop people from doing that anymore-they just call it self check out.
You only need shelf stockers

Well, I need the exercise and watching other shoppers is good, cheap entertainment. LOL
