If you put monthly dues into a mutual fund every month for thirty years on an 8% return, that's a lot of money a member is giving away for the right to work in that union. No thanks. I'll keep that money for myself and work non union........it's a facade that any person or party is for the working man. We've had both in office over the years and we are worse off today than ever. Wake up people.......ps. I was a teamster in my younger years.

Been over 100 since the first week of Oct could have been in Sept. Enjoying some of my 4 weeks paid vacation now. Those dues are a less than a tank of gas. As far as investing if you make enough you can max out your 401 and I enjoy that 6% match as well. It's a good gig. I can't find anything as close and have been looking 6 years so I can not have to be 127 miles from home to work.

I know you've been looking for something closer to home, and I remember you almost took one but it didn't pencil out for you. Keep looking, eventually the right opportunity will come along, and it may not be a union job when it does.

Trap dog I have worked both union and non union jobs in my life. Both have their individual issues and each job or business does as well. I would take any job union or non it it penciled out and got me home daily. But it looms like most likely i will end up quitring working days off. Only working doubles (16hrs) on days I work. That will have me working 5 months a year( 14 out of 28 scedual and 4 weeks vacation) and would give me mid 80s and continuing to build pension, and keep my good benefits and will still make 30k more than most of the jobs i have been offered around home. I do have to say my benefits pay and conditions have generally been better on my union jobs.

It's a direct result of inbev Trans promotion killing their sales. So sells are down, don't need as many cans, orders get canceled, my plants volume drops off millions of pounds. Hundreds in my plant get their hours cut, trucking gets reduced comming and going to my plant, all of our suppliers get cuts and that's just my plant. All because of management poor decisions at one of our big customer plants. Yes, the cry baby unions are the devil. O wait thar was a bunch of woke management pushing an agenda.

Yet those same unions endorse the left wing political loonies PUSHING the woke agenda, same as Larry Fink, etc, forcing management to endorse same agenda to maintain political favor, financial incentives, ESG scores, etc Funny how that works, ain't it?
