What if you make your own right on it? Size of a softball with some black dirt to stand out?

If I were setting this location. I'd put some foreign castor where the blue arrow points. I'd dig short trenches 8" wide and 6-10" deep, where the green has them marked out, and hang snares where the red circles are with the bottom of the 8-9" loop just under water and 4" off the bottom of the trench. I'd make more of them same along the edges further down or on the other side in the water's edge if there is sign of a crawl out anywhere. That may be all wrong, but it's how I'd do it. That'll work. Footholds at those locations is also an option providing there is sufficient water for drowning.

Any of you beaver experts notice them bulldozing straight to the castor following the wind and getting caught going back into the water on your trail? I have seen evidence of this when I started paying attention to trap placement on their foot and wondered about it. When I can get a 330 legally in front of a castor mound I made, almost always they are caught going back into the water.
