Hi. I've been getting into trapping the past couple of years. While i've been educating myself through books and dvds, and attending the Texas Rendezvous, i haven't had a chance yet to actually set traps and process fur. I have a public hunting permit and i was curious if yall think it's a worthwhile idea to trap on Texas public land. Most of the trapping seems to be at Twin Buttes, Sam Houston National Forest and the Pineywoods area from Jan-Feb. I'll probably attempt going out to trap regardless, but any suggestions are appreciated.

Sam Houston has plenty of trapping areas. Like most of Texas there is far more game than trappers. I am glad to see you are getting into trapping, enjoy.
