Hello all, a couple buddies and I are in WY for a mule deer hunt in the bighorn mountains. All four of us tagged out in the first few days and we are hoping to do some coyote hunting instead of heading home early. I’m a beginner coyote hunter, and have absolutely no idea where to start in WY. Everything is so different from the timber and cornfields I know from NY. I’m looking for some basic advice on where to find coyotes in this state. We will have to be on public land but I’m not sure what terrain holds coyotes here. We are in the Bighorns now, and would be willing to hunt just about anywhere in the state. What type of topographical features should I be trying to call coyotes out of? Any info would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

I'd head South a bit an hit the more open country. Find some public land and call or look over the breaks areas.

Wolves are predators in the Bighorns and elsewhere from NW part of the state. Shoot any on sight and just report to WG&F, no license required.
