Well got the news my 8 year old lab has lymphoma. Going to Oncology this morning. These dogs bring so much joy to our lives but boy do they rip at
your heart strings. She comes to work every day with me and hangs out in my shop. My employees and customers absolutely love her and most make it
a point to bring treats with them. We spend most weekends at my cabin and she loves swimming in the pond. Getting ready for our annual Iowa pheasant
trip next month and luckily cancelled my SD trip as I would have been leaving tomorrow for another reason. Thanks for letting me just talk about it Tman family.

My heart goes out to you. They sure are our little buddies, but dang it if their lives are just too short.

We all feel your pain. Labs or any four legged friends are the best.

Very sorry. They sure bring out the best in us, I think that's why it hurts so bad when they go.

Just happy to be here.

Hope the vet can extend the days you have with your best friend. My basset was diagnosed with it at 8. She lived to be 14. Kidney failure what took her. Hardest couple weeks in my life . But you have to remember the good times you had . Hopefully that day will be awhile off.

I usually hold my emotions in check but have to admit I cried for an hour straight last night on my way to the cabin.

Well sheeze that gives a lot of hope! Man what I'd do for another 2-6 years. Have to ask what treatment did they give your basset? As the sky may be the limit, I still want to be smart about it. My buddy had one (I think
he went too long before treatment) and he got out a $6000 loan. The dog lived 3 months and he was still paying on it another 3 years. I'm already $1500 into their overpriced services and my feet ain't even wet yet?

Who was it who said, "If dogs don't go to Heaven, I want to go where the dogs go."

I can't wait to go there when my end comes. There will be a bunch of my best friends there.

Bass not sure . Just our vet is super smart and the treatment came from animal hospital in Tennessee. They treated her here. He has semi retired at 45 because his practice is so big . I mean was He sold out last year.
She was our baby and money was no object for her . I’m not over stating when I say we spent more on her than most college education. Dog had food allergies and trail and error figured that out . Allergy shots , food cost of over 200 month. Grooming cost .Normal check ups Therapeutic bed in every room .180 a pop. She followed me every step so in her final years she was pampered. Had 2 surgeries to remove tumors. Her final trip to his practice was 1000 but we didn’t blink an eye at it ! Last pic was her last one We dropped her off and she passed in the night. Blessings as I didn’t take to be put down knowing it would be her end. Good luck with your baby

Yeh, in a tough spot, not really sure what to do? It may be a treatment of $600 a pop every week for 16 weeks. As I'm not afraid to spend just not sure that makes sense? My best buddy
says I can get a fully trained new lab at 9 months for $4000 why would I do that. Some people just don't understand and he is one of them. I cringe every time I think of how much time his
Lab spends confined in its kennel. Dog attachment is so different for each and every one of us. If I knew I could get another 6 years out of her it'd be done so fast my head would spin,
unfortunately we will never know? Did I mention cancer S*@#s?

It is only money, and your lab is your best friend. I went through this 5 times and each one is harder. They are all heart breakers but God, we love them.

Bass thing is IF YOU DON'T spend the money you have to live with never knowing if it might have helped. You can always make more money . BUT never make more time with loved ones after they leave......
Spend it . Do all you can . NEVER look back !!

People that have never had a dog "shadow" think we are crazy to spend that much on them. My reply "my money I'll spend it on what I want to"!

Boy, pretty scary we are thinking alike. I was just gonna say its only money and plenty more out there for me to make. Waiting to hear from the oncology for my next step. And you are right, I think I've cried more
these past two days than I did when my dad passed a couple of years ago. Doesn't seem right but it is what it is I guess.
