We have an expolosion of ticks on the coyotes I'm catching. Had one stuck in my leg yesterday and would like to avoid Lymes. Do you have any idea how to kill them either on the coyotes or after they're skinned? I thought maybe some bug spray on the pelts and then plastic bag them for a day.

I had my wife buy some Raid today but she bought the kind for wasp and hornets. What one should I buy?

Thanks

Here’s what I use if I’m trapping early coon - good for ticks and fleas. The most tick infested critter I’ve ever caught was actually an otter… hard to believe but I’ve caught several with hide tick marks.

Eagleye,

Do you toss them in a plastic bag with the eight?

Lance, I spray down both coyotes and fisher and put them in a plastic bag for a couple of hours. I use flea and tick killer from Menards.

I hate plastic and fur but I do use drum liners and fumigate for short periods of time- I don’t like to leave them in plastic long when body heat is escaping.

I have found that some have lots and others have next to none. If I see them I spray. I am in a bad deer tick area.

Thanks for all the comments. Walt, I'm headed to get some now and I'll try it out. We have a lot of deer ticks here as well.

I fleshed put a deer hide today, and yep, found a little deer tick just bit into my shin. Less than an hour, hoping I'm good. I hate those blood suckers.

I went pheasant hunting today I have now found 6 .
3 that had to be pulled from me with the tweezers one form my chest two under my right arm

I am spraying all my hunting cloths with permethrin and letting them dry before I go out again

did get one bird but worked for it

farm and fleet sells powder permethrin if you buy the can for cattle it is 2 dollars cheaper than if you buy the exact same stuff in the same size can , same weight ,same % of every ingredient but that can has a picture of a chicken and vegetables on it

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.
