Hard to guess age when one is laying on the ground and only seeing half of the deer, but I’m going out on a limb and saying it didn’t get any older! Lol

3 1/2 years old. There's some serious genetics in the part of the country where that deer was killed. Lots of hunters there too. Not many of them get past 3 1/2, especially the ones that look like this one. The ones which do have those genetics which reach 5 1/2 plus years old have main beams as big as Coke cans. This deer does not.

With the size of neck and face, 5.5/6.5 yrs

Have seen very impressive 1 1/2 year old 8/10 points many times in Ohio.

Friend that I worked for on his farm , found an antler that jammed his hay crimper , 50 years ago , that had a base like a soup can.
Never seen a bigger base since.

Age has some to do with it , but like said above genetics , has more to do with it.
