I have used "Trophy Rocks" for years but in all honesty, I don't see the deer hitting them any harder than the livestock mineral blocks for cattle that I used before.
I have nothing clever to put here.

![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2023/10/full-1790-192676-1056812.jpg) I might try this but probably too late for this year That is what I have been using except it comes in a big rock form that is about 12 pounds or so. Like I said, the deer hit the TM block just as well but this is supposed to help grow bigger antlers. The bears get into them from time to time as well as the rabbits.

All I use is the cheap red trace mineral bags or blocks. Probably doesn't have much nutritional value since it's about 96% salt but the deer sure love it. Regarding cattle I had a friends dad who was a nutritionist. He was highly sought after in the fed cattle industry and every trick he taught us worked. Anyhow he said blocks limit intake so loose mineral was superior. I did it for my momma cows and wow was it an ivory show first thing in the morning. The big bucks loved it. It might take them a while to find it but once they do the deer visited it regularly.

It seemed high dollar but compared to what they get for deer supplements it would be cheap. which brand...Type? I did it for years and used whatever the feed store had on sale. Like wormers on an older roping horse I never minded switching brands because I reasoned that it product 1 did 4 things great and the other 4 fairly, the competition might do the other 4 better and the animals would benefit.
That's me justifying the act of being cheap. If I'd just sold a few bulls I might give em a round or 2 of the high priced stuff but if my pastures were dried out and I was feeding hay already, they might get an ACME grade mineral LOL

I normally use 2 boxes of rock salt per lick. And it's worked for me for years.

But have the red mineral block in the back yard and they work them both. I don't know which is better for them though.

Trophy Rock is no better than mineral blocks for cattle, as said above. For late season, I would scatter some Whitetail Institute No Plow Wintergreens around your mineral area and any other open place by your stand.
