Around ten.

Tagged along till I was 11. Then dad gave me a savage bolt action thirty thirty.

Actually shooting a .22 or double .410…8 or 9
Deer hunting with a rifle…10
Archery hunting…15

We would ride our bikes to the woods with our .22’s or shotguns over our shoulders with homemade slings and whatever bullets/shells our dads would give us. Every shot had to be accounted for. 5 shot and only 4 squirrels didn’t sit to well, lol. Dove hunting was worse, 10 shots and only 4-5 birds would have you doing extra chores to make up for it.

8 yrs old. Deer hunting with a Winchester 30-30.

How old are you now?

There was a combination gas station/hardware store here in town where they would sell us shotgun shells by the round. Twenty-five cents apiece. I went in there many a time and bought a dollars worth. We're talking fifty years ago. Those were the days.

Bb guns sling shots smaller bows 20 cal Sheridan blue streak about 11. Birds squirls and anything that moved was not safe. Single barrel savage 12 from farm auction around 12 or 13.

First 2 deer with a bow were at 13.

Red squirrels .410 can’t remember deer 12 maybe a long time ago. Trapped skunk back the also.

It all started with frogs and a BB gun. Never looked back.

bb gun very young, went on the first day of buck season with dad at 11 and watched him shoot a buck behind a herd of does with his 300 savage. Then 12 years old was the magical age of passage. Got a basket rack 6 point that first day. That was a special event back then! Now I think many get turned off by starting too young, losing site of the harvest, only chasing big racks - just my opinion.

4 as soon as could climb those clay hills

Bb gun maybe 7 or 8. Got to start bird hunting when I was 10. Single shot Ithaca M88 20 guage. Shot my first fox when I was 12. Deer with a bow when I was (14 legal age in KS back then). Had to be 16 to rifle hunt. That why I start with a bow. Didn't kill a deer with a rifle till I was probably in my 20s

About 6 years old I was sneaking my older brothers BB guns. 10 years old shot a shotgun for the first time and a grouse the same day. 12 years old deer hunting open sights 303 British.

BB gun at 6. 410 at 7 Deer at 16. Hunting for 5 years before even seeing a deer. Hardly any deer in my part of state back then . If someone saw a deer it would be in the paper.
This will be my 44 th opening day if lord is willing. Missed one entire season with inner ear 36 years ago Of course it was only 3 days back then .

About 10, maybe 9.

7 years old BB gun, sat in rear seat of grandparents ford ltd shooting sparrows out of a lilac bush by drive way. Looking back on it I’m sorry for the sparrows. I really only hunt or trap for end use anymore. If I don’t eat it or use it for pelts I’m not all about the killing anymore. Age I guess but I don’t by any means hold it against young ones that feel that conquest of a trophy string of sparrows. ..

Shot my first Ruff grouse at 7 or 8 with a wrist rocket.5th grade started shooting grouse with a single shot 410.Started deer hunting at age 11 with my Dad and step dad.Got into waterfowl hunting at the age of 12,13 been at it ever since hunting,started to trap at 12 also.

I think I got my first bb gun when I was 5 or 6, and promptly shot out the glass window of my grandmother's double oven accidentally. I think I got a slingshot that Christmas, before I got my bb gun back, lol. I immediately shot and killed a chickadee and then felt horrible about it as I never thought I would actually hit it, lol.

I think I first went squirrel hunting with my grandpa around age 8 and he let me shoot a squirrel but don't tell because that was illegal. Between the ages of 7-14 I trapped every day of season but had to use other dispatch methods as the communist state I lived in wouldn't let kids hunt until age 12, and not without supervision until age 14. I almost got bit on more than one occasion due to their stupid laws.

When I turned 14 I expanded my trapping line and began hunting squirrels and pheasant with a passion. I was still not allowed to shoot deer until I was 16 which is when I shot my first deer.
