We finished combining yesterday, finished up the winter wheat today, and have to bale some cornstalks tomorrow for a customer, but the corn is in the bin so the major stress is over, anyone else done or getting close to begin done.

Not even close around here. I'm just a small timer but my corn is still over 30% moisture and some green as can be. Need a good frost and some dry weather. Too wet to get in the fields even if it was dry.

Before the last rain the corn was 13 percent and people told me they had trouble getting beans above 9 percent, after the rain most corn is 15 to 20 percent and the beans are having trouble getting under 15.

From 150 to 220 total field average, it’s really variable here this year some spots in the field would hit 300 and then be nothing, and the 0 wasn’t just on the hills it could be in some low ground, just a weird year. If you went about 10 miles south where they had rain fields average were pushing 300.

Got about 200 acres of beans and 200 of corn left. Rain ran us out of the beans but the corn is running good. We are going to fill the corn bin and switch back to beans probably by tues-wed. Long way to go I feel like, but getting some of the corn cleared off is making me feel pretty good.

Finished corn last Thursday. Switching over to beans tomorrow, got 450 acres to run through, weather looks great this week I’ll knock a lot out. What harvesters are you guys running? I’m on a Deere S660 with a 30’ MacDon for beans, really like the draper. Had some issues with our chaffer frame early on but once fixed this has been really good combine.

Just went to a 9895 Massey Ferguson and as always when changing combines there’s always learning pain, also other repairs really took some time and was frustrating.

Farmer that I help harvest got done with everything Saturday night. Everything is irrigated and good clay soil. The last field, we did a yield test. Weighed 12 rows a half mile long. Weighed on each side of the pivot. One side yielded 292 and the other made 304. That was at 15% moisture.

LDW - go trap some coyotes and quit making everyone jealous LOL. Let's compare DRYLAND - ours was 100-120 with irrigated average 250 - about 1/2 to 2/3rds of a crop with less than 1/2 the moisture from Jan. 1 to September 15th. Wettest month was July with 2.4" total which saved all the plants. WILL LOSE SOME TREES but it won't show up for 1-2 years down the road - even red cedars!. ...................................the mike

We don't raise corn but the corn I have seen looks like pineapple tops. The soybean yield was so low that one farmer wished he hadn't run the combine over the field. But God is still good even though row crops were a flop this year. I think it was 26 bushels per acre for soybeans. I think farmers are a bit embarrassed this year with the yield.

wanna be goat farmer.

If no issues today the friend I farm with should finish up beans today. Think we have about 300 acres of corn to do still

We just got enough rain to at the right time to make corn, one thing there should be plenty of propane and not have any distribution problems as a lot of corn has been pretty dry here they built a new dryer at the elevator in town and they’ve hardly used it I think what they have dried has just been to make sure it works.
