I have the LEM 22 it chews meat fast!. I looked at MEAT!Your maker brands now they offer a dual grinder, meaning you can grind your coarse and finish grind in one pass. Watch "The Bearded Butcher" video on making venison sausage. The ground 25# in 3 minutes & 36 seconds and ready for the stuffer. They have good prices too!

I use a 32 Hobart and a old wore out number 32 grinder and they can grind a lot of meat fast, most people can get by with a 22.

I have an LEM #12 3/4 hp

I think I got mine in 2006

been great do deer and I have done 3 cows as well , on a 100 pounds of ground it takes a little bit the last cow was 208 pounds of ground

LEM seems to have a good source of parts on their web site if you do need cutters or plates ect..

Thanks for the advice everyone. My neigbor came over today and said the guy that rents his pasture gave him an old cow. Its wild as heck and he gave up trying to get it loaded for 2 weeks and said its yours. Going to be burger and canning meat. About 2 or 3 weeks getting elk rifle out and trying for a head shot LOL

I only have a small #8 lem I got over a decade ago. We kill 7 to 14 or so deer a year and try as I may I can't kill it.

It's a bit slow but works for us just fine since deer are not large like a cow. I try to kill it so I can buy a bigger one but so far it has held up.

It came on my grinder for $39.95 total.... a few years ago.

Though, I would not be afraid to weld on any V-belt pulley of similar size on my bait grinder.

$32 pulley that I believe would work without welding... https://www.amazon.com/Groove-Pulle...+inch+bore12+inch%2Caps%2C95&sr=8-20

Post Biden this isn't too bad of a price I suppose for the whole grinder...

I have one of those ADC. We used it for years on deer and it served us well. I would like to use it for "other things now"

I can't compare the two brands, never used a Western but I own and have used friends LEM's and haven't seen any problems with them.

There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

We will chill/freeze our meat prior to grinding and keeping the grinder cool is important this year we had it so cold when grinding turkey whe had the condensation on it freeze.

I run 2 Cabelas #32's in my shop. Both came with removable cooling collars to prevent overheating. I debated on a dual grind unit, but decided to stay with what I know works. I can single pass deer and elk through the 1/8" plate no problem.

I have done 3 cows , they all had issues , even when really lean we save back straps , tender loins and brisket and ground the rest unless one of the kids wanted to slice jerky meat.

real nice if you can get a tractor or skid loader to where you drop them to pick them up

What really makes people look at you funny is when you drive down the road with them swinging after you stuck them.
