Sharron, do you remember Adam from Kansas- he went by Tightly Wound One here years ago. Anyway, that was his MOS and if given a couple beers, he would sometimes tell stories about how accurate modern artillery can get and the fun they had once they identified some Ahab burying roadside bombs and the like. More than once they had to confirm the kill with bits pieces no larger than a frog.
Its been a few years, but at one time it sounded like they would have to give him the boot because he loved his job and just kept re-enlisting.

I do recall Tightly Wound posting here. Been a long time. Yes, our vets are a mighty military force, many would serve again in a heartbeat. Imagine the strategies they can surprise a terrorist mob over here with...the sky is the limit. I've heard some very neat ideas from veterans. Vietnam and others from the sandbox. Leave those fake generals and their monkeys in the Pentagon out of it. Amazing things can happen. The stories of some fun they've had with those weapons in the field, with no other officer knowing....taking care of business on the fly. I've known vets to even sneak in to re-enlist. The knowledge they have , even in the deadliest plans , is nothing short of brilliant. They , to me, are the only wall that will be already trained to take on anything happening here ...along with civilians who are well-trained by them. Cheers to them all...

My Uncle Chet was Air Force for 31 yrs. He wanted to stay but they made him retire. When I joined the Army, a Vietnam vet was joining Army Reserve because he missed the excitement of Vietnam. They don't make them like that anymore.
Life ain't supposed to be easy.
