Got this 50 years ago right outside the gate at Chanute AFB. Was pretty cool when I got it. Wonder why a tattoo parlor was open at 2 AM right outside the gate?

I just got my first (and probably only) one last month. Never had anything that I wanted on my body permanently, but I got one that has meaning to me. I dont have any issue with them other than the money you have to spend on them. I try not to spend money on anything that doesnt give me a return of some kind and this didnt fit that bill. Im happy with mine, but Ive seen some real bad ones.

My buddy has a collection of random dumb tattoos. He has bud light tattooed under both biceps. Granted he has had those for near 10 years or so I find it comical that he is branded with the woke beer.

Saw a guy in a restaurant with a tat down the back of his arm. The word “family” was misspelled. Maybe intentional, I don’t know.

My wife and I are both 57, no tats, my father in law had a penguin on his arm, looked really stupid. I thought to myself when he was 20 that was probably really cool but since they are forever,
it was no longer cool. I think that kept me away. Also very proud that my 29 year old daughter and 27 year old son have none. At that age pretty rare. To each their own, I get it but I'm also entitled
to my opinion, they are stupid.

Funniest tattoo I ever saw was where a guy had a mouse that had left tracks as he had come out of the guy's belly button!

I worked with a guy who got half his bicep tattooed with barbed wire. When he could afford to get it finished the new didn’t match the old.

My grandpa was Navy in world war II, as well as a merchant marine for a lot of his younger years. He had tattoos all over, including one of a rooster in a noose on his calf. I didn't get the joke until I was a little older.

I got one when I was 18, only one I have, and I got it back when it wasn't as common.

Nowadays, most people's tattoos look like they were doodled in the border of a gradeschool textbook by a bored, talentless 3rd grader.

Not a big fan of tattoos and doubt I will ever get one. I am impressed by some of the artistry.
As for people spending their money on tattoos, I think they should spend more...otherwise they might spend it on trapping...and I don't need the extra competition

The only tattoo I have ever considered getting is an english/metric ruler on the side of my index finger. Never did it, but it would have been handy a time or two. Seen some really nice looking tattoos, and seen some where the canvas or the tattoo artist or both were mighty drunk.

Agreed. An amount of the art I've seen is less than desirable. On the other hand, I've seen some tremendous art in tats . Totally different than the globs of blue ink traditionally done. But very light, with fine lines and beautiful detail. Though for me, I still wouldn't have tat art .

Tat art in traditional tribal reasons are different.

My father had his Navy tat on his arm. It was well done, and I was proud to see it show when he wore T shirts.

Friend of mine was on a CG Cutter in 67 where an old salt had a tat of a leaping rabbit on a butt cheek. Half the rabbit had already disappeared into the “rabbit hole”.

Not for me. But to each his/her own. I've seen some small, subtle tats on women I really like.
