Don’t know about bucks, but using fox urine will have every deer within scent range checking it out, at least they do when I trap, lol!

When your working the wind it doesn't help of course, I occasionally use it, or just anise oil if I want them to stop in a specific spot I'm watching...sometimes it works, lol

Tried the boot pads occasionally, and I did have a small buck follow the trail once, or, he was just coming down that trail anyway, who knows.

My friend buys that stuff by the quart, lol , spreads it all over, he also "hunts" over a pile of corn so there is that, Seems I always do better then him using nothing.

Is it the urine or the salt in the urine maybe?

The ONLY deer "lure/cover scent" I've ever seen work. And I've seen it multiple times, including a few days ago. Deer cross your path or get downwind and follow back to your tree. Notice it says "Trapper's Secret Formula"...I can smell a hint of red fox urine in it.

I have been peeing in scrapes for 40 years and I'm convinced they are curious about any kind of fresh urine when it's in a scrape, but to really attract him you'll need more than just straight urine. I have been known to top off a bottle of commercial lure before it gets completely empty. The mix of fresh urine with the doe in heat goodies really gets their attention.

Wildlife research Trails end 307 only one I use and buy. Lots of stuff out there to separate you from your money. Russ carman use to have a good one called trophy deer lure that was great too. The deer told me what they liked.the thing about 307 lure is you can use it anytime.I have had bucks in the rut trail me to my stand and bucks and does just like the smell. Just make sure you get a good date. It’s on the bottle. The stronger smell the better .yea I know there nose is better but it also covers my scent better when the wind blows.

Had James Valley work well when the original owner was alive, had Deer Sense sticks work well until the last couple of years, bought Smokeys last year with no noticeable affect. Hope something works this year (Smokeys or Deer Sense).

Your in some good deer country if it’s the area I’m thinking of in that corner of the state.

I will attest to this. I use it religiously and have had deer all around my 10-12ft ladder stand. Granted they were does, fawns, and younger bucks. But I didn’t have the first deer blow or spook even when they walked around downwind.

I usually cut the tarsals off a buck, esp.if rank, ziploc, toss in freezer.
Sometimes use in another area.
Have had bucks hit scent, turn and run, and others come in looking for a fight.

Saw a couple of good ones from the house last PM. This weekend is youth season and will bow hunt Mon AM. With the cold front some movement should start.
