But, i did get my tasks finished today.
First, fixed the leak on the well pump. Not always an easy job.
Second, replaced all internals in the commode and all hardware, plus new valve and stainless steel line.
So far, no leaks and momma is pleased. Plus i cleaned the porcelain throne in and out.
I did good. I thank i might get some chicken wings for all my hard work. We'll see.

To all you plumbers. You have my total respect.

Start at one end of the house and finish at the other end before you’re done.

Rewarding job well done.

Plenty of hand sanitizer to, during and after my Lowes run with parts in bag. Plus latex gloves during teardown and reassembly.
Payday today. Lowes got a small chunk of it today.

Im a big boy plumber. When a 16” water main breaks it’s quite a sight and task to fix!

Holy smokes, I have seen a 12" watermain break, a16" would be impressive to say the least.
A 12" main will fill a 10' x 10' x 20' hole in a matter of seconds. Saw it happen and the backhoe operator
got the guy working on the pipe out in the nick of time.

To make matters worse we had to fix it live. No one at the county or city knew where the valves were to kill it. Some guys directional boring hit it right in the side. When we got there there was a hole in the highway big enough to park 2 pickups in. 2 6inch pumps couldn’t keep up with the flow. My dad chained a piece of pipe to the trackhoe bucket and stuck it over the hole. It worked like a vacuum because it sucked the water out of the hole as well as diverting the water away so we could work. We bolted an mj tapping sleeve together with a valve on it. We slid it in place over the hole. Anchored the sleeve in place and shut the valve closed. Problem solved.

The plumbing fixtures on that shower the threads are so sloppy they leak even with nylon tape or pipe dope applied my neighbor said you need to use both if it keeps leaking.

Sometimes even the simplest plumbing tasks can make you want to pull your hair out. I would rather deal with sewer or storm drains than waterlines any day of the week. The pressure creates a whole new ball game.

When we moved into this house some time ago, the hot water was on the right in the bathtub. Drove me nuts but eventually I got used to it. Then last year we replaced the bathtub and plumbed it right and I had to get used to it being the right way all over again, lol.
