Friday morning, I was on my way to go hunting in a road closure area. I was bicycling in going down a hill, not a particularly steep hill so I couldn't have been going too fast. The next thing I remember is that I was standing by the road holding onto the bicycle, gun loaded on the handlebar rack, and I could not remember where I was. After a bit an empty log truck came in and I flagged him down and asked him where I was. He told me and I walked out. Must have taken me a while because he stopped when I was at my PU and asked if I was OK. Of course, I said yes and then drove to the hospital. I have an uncontained fracture of my second vertebrae. Home now and it looks like the hunting season and at least a lot of the trapping season is over for me this year. No nerve damage so pretty lucky, I guess. Road rash and a bunch of stitches on the right side of my face so I guess that is where the plant was. I won't have to wear a mask for Halloween! Don't remember any of it though so I don't know what happened. There were three guys behind me that had to have passed me but can't remember. I think they probably helped get me up but didn't realize what shape I was in. Right now, kind of in and out with some pain killers. More Doctors next week, I guess.
Boy it took me a long time to write that and a ton of mistakes. Thank goodness for spell check.

Well that’s scary! Glad you’re ok. Not sure what part of Washington you’re in, but I’ve thought of a mountain bike for my turkey hunting out there…thanks for now convincing me I’ll save my money and stick to my own two feet! My luck I’d end up off the cliff side. That could’ve really went a lot worse than what it did.

Things can go south pretty quick one dump can take a long time to heal get better.

They cat scanned me twice. Checked for bleeds in my brain and my neck. The reason I am a bit slow is probably because of pain meds.
