One of the most pronounced I’ve ever seen. It goes like this for 50 yards up into the woods then branches off, multiple branches.

Maybe half dozen snares on loooong extensions to tangle them up off the trail a ways?

That’s my current favorite answer to the question I ask myself when I see that groove.

I’ve seen ones like that but in corn fields. Gets a landowner upset for sure.

Old beaver skid trails are a fair place to set for land fur,after the beaver have been removed.
Especially the ones that go thru fairly thick bush.Cover a carcass nearby and set snares on the beaver trails.
