On a damp 45 degree day....it's time for a pot of chili !

What's Yinz cookn ?

It's a balmy, 37 degrees here. Grilled pork chops, roasted parsnips and cob salad here, this evening. I made Chile and sticky/caramel cinnamon rolls yesterday.

Just started a shrimp and sausage gumbo. Cold misty day here in Tx.

Yeah it is I use Sorrento peppers7 in all together with 4 with seeds.

Walleye, potato salad and homemade applesauce

Knockwurst, chicken wings and fries

Venison meatloaf, sweet potatoes and salad

Venison meatloaf, Brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes. With a glass of red wine.

All those neat meals that go with cold weatha so well...

9 degrees here, warm and cozy inside...love wood heat.

Thought I'd add to the warmth the aroma of roasted pecans and real maple syrup...


Pecan pie is so easy. And I nevah use the typical recipe of corn syrup...replace that with real maple syrup and brown sugah. It isn't as overpoweringly sweet, but just right. Much bettah nutrition for the body.

I wish it was cold, it was 83 today. Supposed to cool down later this week.



Rut activity is picking up so plan to be in the woods on Tuesday.

Ground moose and venison hot Italian sausage made into meatballs. The bride made a nice batch of tomato sauce and it is all simmering away for three more hours.

Sharon....always have kidney and black beans in my chili....were fat away from Texas...lol

Hey it’s an added tradition, the beans ….I know yinz aren’t gonna make a batch in the bunkhouse so Colby won’t complain
