During the 16th century, in parts of Europe, people who were accused of being witches were weighed due to the belief that a witch has no soul, and as a result, weighs significantly less, allowing them to easily fly on a broom.

Those who were accused of witchcraft (from all over Europe) made the pilgrimage to Oudewater in the Netherlands to be weighed at Heksenwaag (witches' scales), an official weighing house. After the weighing, each person would receive an official certificate, which stated that he or she was not a witch.

No one was found guilty of witchcraft at the weighing house in Oudewater in the Netherlands.

Today the weighing house is a museum and is open to visitors. And yes, you can still get weighed and receive an official certificate.

Most of today's women weigh as much as two of them gals and some of them are pretty witchy. Just sayin.

And don't know how to use a broom either.
