Love the story and history, Jack.

I do like that pic of you with the tiger. I can see your face. Too much fur on the face destroys the beauty of a good artistic face, an attractive jawline. Those who don't have it, cover it up all they want. That's a great shot of you.

Here's a little contribution of mine. JR's wolverine.

Jack, have you ever considered sharing your stories on a recording? It would be a shame to see all your research and stories be lost at some point in history. Just start BSing on tape and tell your stories. I would buy a copy of that to listen to on cross country drives. Just a thought.

Those pics are unreal! Those wolves are massive! What do those things weigh? They look as big as you.

So cool, but dang it looks cold there!!

I can't even imagine what it would be like to walk up to a leopard with it's foot in a trap it could be like walking into a tornado of teeth and claws.

I've read enough of Jim Corbett's books to know that tigers and leopards can be nasty pieces of work.

Great pics, thanks for sharing. Jack, I could really relate to the story you told when you were trying to use your rudder pedals in your cub to hurry up and land when a wolverine came back to life under your seat. As a fellow pilot, that one stuck with me! I always enjoy your posts.

Yes it would be a high light of my life to hear you talk of the many educational studies that you where involved in doing I would venture to say in many cases your work was the first of it's kind n many of the recording of your findings In other words ground breaking .Trapping the great beast that could have eaten you in one setting had to keep you on high alert And your senses where at a peak of about 11 on the Richter scale From my earliest days of hunting and trapping I would lay awake a nights thinking in anticipation of what the next day might have instore for me .And I was just trapping muskrats coons foxes or small game hunting .Or maybe deer TIGERS AND GRIZZLY BEARS would dail up the nerve endings by some amount

I don't think they're in a trap,; but correct me if I'm wrong, but their probably in a foot snare.

GROUSEWIT -

You're exactly correct. I've trapped wolves with footholds and with neck snares. Tigers and leopards with foot snares. Grizzlies and black bears with foot snares and foothold traps and barrel traps. Mountain lions with foothold traps. Wolverines with neck snares and foothold traps. All fun and exciting.

That is another nice shot of you, Jack.

Truer words never spoken, Hoss.

Lots of us think back on our lives and what we were doing , as you read his book and the years and dates he was living a certain adventure. I sure did.

Sam's voice is more coarse in sound and volume. Jack has a soft voice.

I really enjoy reading A habit I learned at an early age I would say that enjoying reading has been a major influence in my life Jack.s book goes into detail about his many adventures during his work career . And also some during his private life .I highly recommend reading it. I purchased 2 copies of it Kept one for myself and sent another copy to a friend that I have exchanged quite a few books over the years..

I was born and raised on a farm I spent more than 50 years hunting squirrels rabbits pheasants deer bear and what ever was in season . I trapped for muskrats coon fox coyote Looking back I feel like I lived and adventure also But not on a scale of trapping leopards and tigers. Researching marten in places very few men every set foot on before the book most of us could not even think of doing such things This book book puts the first hand account of some one that did it If you buy it you will enjoy it

One of these days when my kids are grown and I have time to read again I’ll get your books for sure. Don’t have the time to do much reading these days but I’m sure your books are exactly what I like to read.

Time well spent…would be reading this book with your kids….two stones with one bird…

Time well spent in reading about appreciating the life of someone very unique , while they are still alive….is a priceless gift.
