Got my new AT in the mail today. I will be destroying my magazine (since photocopies of the ballot for the bylaw change are not permitted) and voting NO.

I feel the whole existence of elections is allowing the MEMBERSHIP to select the most capable individual for the leadership position of President.

I also feel that if this bylaw passes it will only magnify stagnation, complacency, and possible corruption in an organization.

who counts the votes?

I will be voting NO as well.

I am disappointed that this proposal was approved by the BOD to be sent to the membership.

It severely restricts candidates for President to those who already hold the highest positions in the NTA.

Think about how the next President will be chosen IF this amendment passes.

NTA is like Dracula, you can't kill it, many have tried and many have failed. Trappers like having a convention to meet up at, rest of this crap doesn't matter.

Which one of ya'll is going to run for office to change things, ethic's committee needs time to figure out something on you so you get thrown out, lol.

Will be interesting to see how this is being spun in the AT. As you might guess, I haven't gotten my copy yet. Also interesting the timing of putting this bylaw change in front of the membership ... with the coming holidays and the up swing in the trapping season.

Does none of your NTA director's give a report at the state convention/meeting to let you know whats going on? The directors on the board voted for this to be sent to the membership! If you don't like the idea id start with your own director in your state and see what he/she thought of the idea. I bet most of them will swear up and down they didn't vote for it, lol.

Jtrapper Like we said last week The NTA is so struck in the way they have operated for so long it is the only way they think they can function . And that has lead to their complete dysfunction .I became a lifetime member more than 40 years ago But they have not nor will not get any money or support from me for a large amount of the last 15 or more years

Who proposed this?

Ive not been in the board room in a decade now but usually it's proposed by the executive council then the board votes to send it on to the membership or squash it. At any rate decision's like this makes me wonder what other poor decision's are being made we never know of.

s side rd 151, i been in the same boat for the past 10 years.
