Made a few of these last year, as my arthritis is getting bad. Figured I'd skin in field while warm, drop in ziploc. No faster or really easier than slitting across back, couple fingers in each side, and pulling.

I used some small cable and made a loop that grabs a back paw I originally made it to do opening cuts on coons but handy for squirrels also it clips to the cargo tie down in the back corner of the truck bed or on a post , where-ever 308 case for size reference fender washer with 2 holes drilled in it and some snare cable
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

There are several brackets available similar to the one in DaveP's post that can be mounted at a comfortable height that utilize the tail skinning method without all the bending over,
The Ridge Runner Original Skinner from Okie Dog Supply and the Hunters Helper Squirrel Skinner from Hunter Helper Tools are a couple of examples that are designed to mount to a tree or post and hold the back legs to skin tail down and then hold the head to skin the back legs.
The tail method is by far the cleanest and easiest way I have found to take a squirrel's PJs off.

Good video. That's the way I do it. Me and a pocket knife. And my foot.

Good video. That's the way I do it. Me and a pocket knife. And my foot. My dad and I tried that method on the very first squirrel I shot. Dad was never a squirrel hunter. The squirrel was stone cold. Dad made the cut, stood on the tail, and I pulled. Dad ended up on the ground and the squirrel hide hadn't budged. We learned to skin them warm real quick.
