I have ample access to great whitetail hunting and just never do. I have harvested 2 WT in my years of hunting (that I remember) and just enjoy the mule hunting better also. They are majestic animal that I have lived around all my life.

There are muleys here, higher up. Never have shot one, though. So I don't know how they compare to whitetails. For taste, anyway.

I hunt big game in the Rockies and like you said, you just don't see the bigger mules. Three fourths of the state have good mule deer the far west quarter I have not witnessed anything that good.

Most everything is smoked and made into jerky. An old muley isn't all that great to eat not from the taste but gets tough.

I would have no problem filling my tag with that deer Some days I would be looking for this or that Other days I have more of a killer mentality In my mind both ways are just fine It is all about how you are thinking on any given day Looks like a very nice deer to me .

Congrats! Great looking deer to me! Y’all always talking about filling freezers, does are for filling the freezer, lol. Mature bucks are for hanging on the wall, meat gets donated. We haven’t eaten a buck in I don’t know how many years. We don’t kill a lot either though.
