We finally had an opening this fall to fish for Dog Salmon. 60 salmon every check helps supplement dry dog food during the winter.

Nice. Worth the work for dog food and possibly some bait.

Those alligators have character. Do the hens still have eggs in them, or are they zombies?

While in Arizona a couple weeks back there were a few places that had salmon on the menu. Given where we were at I told my bride that the salmon sounded GU. Geographically Unappealing.

Oh yeah bait will be the second largest consumer of this fish. Marten boxes will have this fish in them by December.

Lol. I like the “premium quality” label. I wonder where that fish originated from?

Yeah these fish are all spawned out. We do have some fish from earlier in the fall that are full of eggs. Those will be the ones I use for trapping bait

Seattle WA. Marketed as wild caught.

I'm pretty sure that brand uses sockeye, undoubtedly of Alaska origin. The bulk of the sockeye produced in Alaska (other than canned), ends up in Seattle for reprocessing.

These are paddle fish. Called spoonbill by folks here. Limit is two a day and six a year. Very good eating. Lots of oil. Mix that oil into a ground bait and its great for predators
