I had a 7mm that kicked like a mule. Accurate but I got rid of it. It must be the Browning stock design, I’ve noticed that they kick hard too.

I have 2, one a 204 the other is a 300 win mag. The 204 i can shoot a 3 shot group and make 1 enlarge hole. The 300 i ended up sending it back to browning. It would only shoot a 3 inch group. Don't know what they did to it but it will shoot a one enlarged 3 shot group hole as well The 300 is a he//s canyon. Both have 4.5-14 leapolds

Very nice rifles for the money. Good workmanship. They're lightweight, so that may be why some are complaining of recoil.
I sold an X-bolt Medallion Maple in .30-06. Wish I still had it.

That is one I am looking at Jim...... not in Maple though. The Hunter looks to be the same thing only different. Reading the comments here I am a little apprehensive about the recoil, I've posted before about the old Savage I have been using..... it is tough to keep scopes dialed in because of the recoil......plus it is just not fun to go and shoot anymore. Interested in keeping to the 30-06 even though I've got a lot of good advice here about the .243 and 6.5 Creedmore.....
The Weatherby Sporter looks like a good one too.........just cant find one to shoulder around here--and I'm not crazy about buying a long rifle on-line without seeing how it fits first/.

Don't over look the 7mm08. It's also a great low recoil round if you find a rifle you like in it.

I'd rather have a lightweight, harder-recoiling rifle than a heavy one with less recoil. You carry the rifle around all day, but only shoot for an instant, normally; and I never notice recoil when shooting at game.
There are ways to reduce the effects of recoil at the range.
