I have never seen so much marten sign as I did today!



Ted set the gear I hung the bait an lured.



Pretty cool seeing older sets by new Ted said that box was about 30 yrs old.



Put in a set went down the trail looked back an saw a marten cross the trail right to the set! Not even 5 minutes! First one of the year!



Ran out of gear. Ran back grabbed some more an checked the gear that was already an picked up 3 more!



Good way to start the season!

After connecting so well on opening day we decided to make a run tonight.

Does it look bigger when I hold it out?

Picked up 8 more marten and 2 ermine.



Getting snow right now so hoping for a smooth ride on the sleds Sunday an seeing fresh track!

Nice run. Looks like you two are in for a great season. Trapping with a good partner makes all the difference in the world.
I notice you are setting your boxes close to the ground. Not worried about vole/mice damage? Snow depth not a concern?

av Ted says it is a rarity to have vole/mice damage. All the ones we got were good. I know back home if I let them even get close to the ground they would get chewed up. We are only targeting them till mid December and the snow shouldn't get that deep by then, historically Totally different up here, That fine powder not the wet sticky stuff I am use to
