Have you heard of this? Warren and Robert Garcia have drafted this act but have not formally introduced it. I keep seeing this around.

My understanding limits purchase on "bulk" ammo, background check through ffl, additional fed tax, straw purchases, red flag law for owning "a lot" of ammo, and limits personal manufacturing/ reloading.

Define "a lot" of ammo? Never mind, I meet the criteria whatever it is.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Used to was, back in the 60's/70's, you had to register ammo sales. But they decided it was a waste of time and effort and did away with it. SDo of course some dipwad wants to bring it back.

Waiting on the right "crisis" to introduce it. They need the emotions of the people behind. I hope people would start realizing gun control isn't about stopping crime against the common citizen, it about preventing common citizens from protecting their rights when the bureaucracy trying to infringe apon them. They want to take away our rights to defend before they start taking them away.

I have said for the past few years, we may look back on the "crazy" ammo prices of today and it may seem "cheap". It seems like the prices never go down so you may as well just bite the bullet and get a few extra boxes for a rainy day. FYI, a "box" is 500 rounds minimum. smile

I would hope by now everyone has figured that out. I'm pretty slow and I figured it out before Trump left office.

You would be amazed the amount of calls I get from people the week before deer season looking for ammo because they are out. One guy about a month ago claimed to have been looking for 30 Rem for 3 or 4 years. I had 3 boxes, he only took one. I just shook my head.

Iowa back in the late 60's had it. Had a log book and used your SS number.

darn that logic and reason

it takes 6 rounds to hold up a dozen gas stations

it takes 6000 to maintain at a A class level competitive shooter

it take 1 round to be 50% of firearm deaths in this country , suicide

statistically you should be a lot more worried about the person with 1-2 guns and a couple boxes of ammo than the guy with 20 guns and 40K rounds

We had it in Oregon when I was growing up. Had to register a box of 22 ammo everytime I bought a box. I was 14..

WHAT - spike i have lived in this state all my life and have been given grief a time or two over what they thought was "handgun" ammo (.22 mag) but have never had to register anything. Yes we live in fu state but that hasn't always been the case.

If I were a betting man, I would bet the guy with 40K rounds is far more proficient and practices more often than the guy with 2 boxes.

and he has 3 hunting seasons and 12 competitions to live for

the guy with less than a box and 0 proficiency is going for press contact aiming

I thought that has always been watched. My UPS driver laughed one time as he told me “technically” he’s supposed to report me after delivering so much ammo. Some company policy or something. This is the same guy that stopped one day when I wasn’t home and played basketball with the boys in the front yard. He gets a Christmas gift (Baked goodies) every year too, lol.

I'd say yes

I told the guys at work they would lay off the “assault weapons” thing and go for the ammo after hearing the horror stories out of New York. Waiting periods for background checks and limits on quantity.

When you bought a box of any sized ammo that purchase along with your name and address was written down in a book. It only lasted about a year until they figured out that it was too hard to track. I was being a smart elic when I said "register". That law's purpose was to find out who own what. They thought that by tracking ammo purchases they could do that. Didn't work then and it won't work now. Oregon was a beautiful and free state when I grew up in the 50s. 60s, and 70s. After I joined the marine corps in 75 it seemed like the whole state changed. I went back once for a year after I got out but couldn't take the restrictions so I went to college in Washington state and joined the army. I still have 2 brothers that live there one in myrtle point and one in coos bay. Still a beautiful state but would never live there again.
