Define "a lot" of ammo? Never mind, I meet the criteria whatever it is.
I have nothing clever to put here.

Used to was, back in the 60's/70's, you had to register ammo sales. But they decided it was a waste of time and effort and did away with it. SDo of course some dipwad wants to bring it back.

I have said for the past few years, we may look back on the "crazy" ammo prices of today and it may seem "cheap". It seems like the prices never go down so you may as well just bite the bullet and get a few extra boxes for a rainy day. FYI, a "box" is 500 rounds minimum. I would hope by now everyone has figured that out. I'm pretty slow and I figured it out before Trump left office. You would be amazed the amount of calls I get from people the week before deer season looking for ammo because they are out. One guy about a month ago claimed to have been looking for 30 Rem for 3 or 4 years. I had 3 boxes, he only took one. I just shook my head.
I have nothing clever to put here.

Iowa back in the late 60's had it. Had a log book and used your SS number.

darn that logic and reason
it takes 6 rounds to hold up a dozen gas stations
it takes 6000 to maintain at a A class level competitive shooter
it take 1 round to be 50% of firearm deaths in this country , suicide
statistically you should be a lot more worried about the person with 1-2 guns and a couple boxes of ammo than the guy with 20 guns and 40K rounds

If I were a betting man, I would bet the guy with 40K rounds is far more proficient and practices more often than the guy with 2 boxes.

WHAT - spike i have lived in this state all my life and have been given grief a time or two over what they thought was "handgun" ammo (.22 mag) but have never had to register anything. Yes we live in fu state but that hasn't always been the case. When you bought a box of any sized ammo that purchase along with your name and address was written down in a book. It only lasted about a year until they figured out that it was too hard to track. I was being a smart elic when I said "register". That law's purpose was to find out who own what. They thought that by tracking ammo purchases they could do that. Didn't work then and it won't work now. Oregon was a beautiful and free state when I grew up in the 50s. 60s, and 70s. After I joined the marine corps in 75 it seemed like the whole state changed. I went back once for a year after I got out but couldn't take the restrictions so I went to college in Washington state and joined the army. I still have 2 brothers that live there one in myrtle point and one in coos bay. Still a beautiful state but would never live there again.
