I have been watching Next Gen Trapper on You Tube. He is from Iowa and is up to 540 coon in five days. He is young and full of energy. Has markets for the hide, meat and peckers. Was born 40 years late as we had $40 coon then. Now is getting $5 on finished coon. He is still happy and that's what counts above all else.

ADC do you have big die offs there? Here they die back ever few years. I have found them dead and dying. They get pretty low in numbers at times. I have not seen a coon at the house in a couple years. Most the time they are here and it is a full time job to keep them out of the chickens.

Yes Mark that happens here as well but never really wipes out enough of them to help with the nest raiding and such very much.

Thanks for the reply ADC. From what I have seen it does not take a high population to have duck nests raided. Unless they are knocked back to nothing, a different one eats more.

Good for him

When he gets a skunk it is $30. He extracts the essence and bottles it for lure sales. All his catches go into a walk in freezer. He finishes the pelts when things slow down. He also goes to school in some of his spare time. He is a very good time manager.
