If you go into the lure biz, don’t use jars that have that little foam disc in the lid for a seal.

It gets stuck to the lip, so you gotta use your fingers to peel it off (contaminating your fingers), or the wind blows it off and away.

And if you loose that stupid little disc, those jars WILL leak!

They are just glued with a spot of hot glue, and some are just pressure wedged into place with no glue. You can easily permanently re attach them with a better smear of glue and it won't happen again. I have used Elmers's wood glue and Dap silicone at different times when that happens. Get the glue smear closer to the outside edge of the seal this time. Those seals are usually just a small glue spot in the middle of the lid. It is all assembly line product runs.

Any kind of glue should work. Keeping that glue smeared near the outside edge of the foam/paper seal will prevent it from pulling loose the next time around. Many of the lids have foam or shellac cardboard insert liners to help guard against leakage. That is what is available for most 8 oz and 16 oz bait jars. They are also the more economical lids to bulk purchase.

You can buy some plastisol lids for your jar size that won't ever come out they are metal caps usually. The rubber seal is glued around the inside rim of the lid.

Haha.

Wasn’t your stuff yesterday, but he used the same jars. Had to chase that little piece of foam in the 40 mph winds yesterday a couple times. It’s almost got away from me once!
