You mean when apex predators are introduced into environments that cannot support them and then are allowed to reproduce and expand without any or limited control on numbers that they run out of food and turn to fluffy the poodle for food. LIES i tell you lies. LOL Seriously though, just from what I have read on here and other places, 8 in a week on an acre is a crazy number. That neighborhood must have had some serious groceries available.

In Roman's ch 1 vs 25. The apostle Poul speaks of foolish man in this way.
Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creacher more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

My guess is that it reflects wolves that are habituated to human presence, and thus are not as wary, and also a fairly restrictive travel corridor into that particular one acre area.............rather than the abundance of wolves overall in that area.
That's it exactly. I see it with urban coyotes all the time and I know for a fact that I get away with crap that would send a country coyote running. On my in town subdivision jobs my first step is pulling up Google aerials and finding the travel routes and often do all my catching on a single lot.

If I set 40 snares in one small location and catch a whole pack coming through one day during a week.
"The trapping zone established was only around one acre in size, and lasted roughly a week,"

8 wolves per acre, should be pretty easy to do the math and get an accurate picture of the population. Seriously, there are way more than what the DNR says. The only way deer will survive is moving in to town. My guess is that it reflects wolves that are habituated to human presence, and thus are not as wary, and also a fairly restrictive travel corridor into that particular one acre area.............rather than the abundance of wolves overall in that area. I honestly don't think that's even a thing. Around here they come across humans all the time but very few people see them or interact with them. I think it's just the opposite, the more they are around human presence the better they are at keeping a low profile.

Probably developed a taste for pasture raised beef ! Didn’t understand the concept of eventually running up against a Federal Trapper. MN has some quite experienced in ruining their day !

That, too. To a degree. I regularly get, but I didn't think we had coyotes from folks where I'm catching coyotes. But then again the average human is oblivious to what goes on around them. Which is why the problem goes as long as it does until they start snacking on pets.

I liked the fact there’s no deer where the wolves live because the deer moved to town because people feed them. I figure the deer said we’ll take our chances with humans rather than the wolves, lol. They become “townies” here. You see them standing in driveways and bedded in yards.

As the above two posts state, this is exactly what happens. Unfortunately the people appointed to positions of power have no real world experience, only what is force fed them by liberal minded professors. Sad state of affairs nowadays.

Just talked to a friend that lives there ten minutes ago(pheasant report, we hunt the same area of Sd.) He had trouble with wolves on game cams around his dog kennels. The gov. Wanted to put electric fence around his dog kennels! He wasn’t impressed with that solution.

I just posted an article from Sportsman Alliance that speaks to this problem and their plan to rectify it.
