When I was in high school our library had a nice selection of his books. I read and re-read them over and over. Forest Patrol and Wildlife Camera man were my favorites. Of course Big Red is probably his most famous book as well as the Black Fawn.

Have them all A nose for trouble and trailing trouble are probably my favorites but he was a heck of a great writer and all his books are top lot, due to his influence I got a Irish setter as a kid and into hounds later in life, that Irish setter was a heck of a great dog, it’s been 50 years and still miss her

Read most but not all of them. I'm still finding new ones now and then. And I am not a bit ashamed to admit that I still read or re-read one or two of his books every single year. None of the "grown up" books I read enthrall me the way his writing does. They may have been written for young adults but anyone who loves the outdoors will love them all.

My favorites... I guess are Haunt Fox and Stormy although it's awful hard to pick! Loved the Big Red series as well as the Wild Trek/ Snow dog books.
