hi i was wondering if any of you out there has sewn fur with a industrial sewing machine but not a fur sewing machine and if it was successful or not because i have a adler 69 and a singer post bed industrial sewing machine and i was wondering if they could possibly sew fur or not. i was looking at getting a strobel fur sewing machine as a alternative or something but fur machines can be a bit pricey, thank you all and have a great day!

I cant say for sure, but give it a try on some scrap pieces and see if the seams are visible or not.

I made a blanket with a normal sewing machine, worked just fine for me. I just bought leather sewing needles for it.

You will need wider spacers because of having a seem. Thin leather in a wider spacer will help corect the seem.

I use both. Matching the fur at the seam is the best way to reduce visability. The shorter length fur such as muskrat and mink are going to show the seam more than say a fox, coyote, beaver, coon or skunk. I make alot of products and both machines have their place for making hats, head bands, mittens, ear muffs, can coosies and such.
